The Committee on Economic Policy recommends that the Parliament should reject the draft law to return property of basic branches of national economy that are owned by individuals and legal entities to state ownership

The bill (Reg. No. 1039) establishes basic principles, procedure and conditions of nationalization of the basic branches of national economy that are subject to return in state’s ownership, as well as the bodies performing nationalization; stipulates measures to protect the rights of owners whose property is subject to nationalization; and establishes the procedure of settling the dispute issues, arising in the process of nationalization.

Attention was focused on the conclusions of the Central Scientific Experts Office of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariat, which states that following the results of consideration in the first reading, the bill should be rejected.

Experts noted the bill does not comply with several articles of the Constitution (No 41 and No 89).
